If you are still unable to use the remote control, this may be a hardware problem and would require repair of the device. The only thing that would make me upgrade the middleware and driver is if they added a “wake on ir remote button press”, but it sounds like they will never do that. If it is not listed, this would normally indicate that the hardware was not recognized by the system and the drivers were unable to install. It works great with GBPVR for scheduling and recording, but live tv skips occasionally, probably due to my uusb2 cpu and graphics card. What version are you using, and did you get it on the happ.

udb2 Is this installed and does it function properly? If it is, unplug the power from the unit and restart the computer. If video does show up, the device is good. If you click on it you should be able to open the WinTV programs.
